As she hastily packed her belongings, her fingers brushed against the earpods, now silenced and still. The bag slung over her shoulder, she took off in a sprint, her feet pounding the wet pavement.
Her running speed is matching with my walking speed. I chuckled.
A smile crept on my face, a gentle amused curve on my lips. It was strange, foreign sensation, yet it felt natural, as if I'd been smiling all my life.
The words tumbled out of my mouth, a mixture of shock, excitement, and longing.

The realization hit me like a ton of bricks, leaving me breathless and bewildered.
